The Paddock Christmas Village
In 2003, with our children grown, we decided to switch from putting up a tree to building a Christmas Village in the living room; our original village had only a firehouse, gift shop, farmhouse, and a few people. Since moving to Sonora in Arizona, our village has grown to cover the 20 foot center island in our kitchen and encompass everything from an ocean to Grandmother's woods. The river runs from the ocean to the mountain behind it all; see it in # 11. We love to add a new area and a few more people each year; 2009 saw us "Camping in the Woods" just like we did in Montana - see #10. The photos are arranged from left to right around the island; the village is non-stop and covered in snow - the best kind - fake, and the only kind you see in Arizona!
